For powered devices such as motion detectors or smoke detectors, two conductors carry the power from the control panel to the detector (be sure to observe polarity), while the remaining two conductors connect the alarm zone of the control panel.

The cable comes in a sturdy cardboard container specially designed to permit easy, snag-free release - every time.

Each container holds 1000 feet of FT4, 4-conductor cable - more than enough for most installations.
