Special design allows this contact to be concealed in a steel frame of a door without affecting the magnetic field. All well-designed security systems guard against perimeter doors being opened by unauthorized persons. Each Door Contact consists of two parts - a "switch", housed in 1-inch cylindrical housing (to be mounted in a 1-inch hole in the frame of the door or window) and a small magnet, in an identical housing to be mounted in a similar hole in the moving surface opposite the switch. Opening the door moves the magnet away from the switch and a signal is transmitted to the Alarm Control, which analyses the event, to determine whether an alarm condition has occured.
